Violation: stop-work orders for a number of structures in the Jordan Valley.

Date: July 17, 2012.

Perpetrators: the so-called Inspection Subcommittee.

Location: the villages of Humsa and Beit Dajan.

Victims: a number of residents in the area.

 

Preface:

 

The Israelis’ aimed to empty the Jordan Valley area from its Palestinian residents in order to open the doors for further colonial expansions in the area; consequently, the Israeli house demolition and evictions policy continue unabated. This policy shadowed the Jordan Valley area in a way that contradicts with all the international conventions and agreements.

 

Details:

 

On July 17, 2012, officers of the so-called Inspection Subcommittee raided the Bedouin dwellings in Humsa before handing two stop-work orders for families on the pretext of unlicensed construction in area classified ‘C’ according to Oslo Accords. The orders set August 12, 2012, as the date of a hearing session to be held in Beit El Military Court in regard to the structures.

Meanwhile, Israeli troops broke into Beit Dajan village and handed Kanaan Kanaan a stop-work order for his agricultural structures located nearby Al Hamra checkpoint on the pretext of no construction permits.

 








 






 

 

Kanaan suffered previous demolition in January when the Israeli Occupation Army demolished a residence and a shack in addition to a pipeline that fed over 100 dunums of agricultural lands. The targeted field is 25 dunums in area that holds a shack and a water pool within; the fields generated income for twelve Palestinian families (49 people including 23 children).
