Violation: ravaging the road connecting Um Lasfa and al Deirat.

Victims: the villagers of Um Lasfa.

 

Details:

 

On July 24, 2012, Israeli troops and dozers destroyed the road connecting Um Lasfa and Al Deirat villages in Hebron. Mohammad al Udra, Head of Al Deirat Local Council, said that an Israeli force accompanied by a dozer broke into the area before the dozer leveled the road and destroyed retaining walls on both of its sides. He said that the 1 –km-long road was completely ravaged.

He said that they received a number of stop-work orders from the Israelis who claimed that the road has been opened before acquiring the needed permits. The road branches from bypass ‘356’ and leads to Um Lasfa. Al Deirat is located to the north of the bypass and people had to go through the bypass and al Deirat to reach Um Lasfa. Now, the locals are forced to take a longer alternative route to get to Um Lasfa.
