Details:

On June 12, 2012, the Israeli Occupation Civil Administration issued a demolition order for Haleema al Hathaleen residence in Um al Kheir. The order number ‘390653’, issued by the Israeli Occupation Civil Administration called for ‘immediate stoppage of construction and the removal of whats already been constructed within 7 days of the date of the order’.

Bilal al Hathaleen said that the family contacted Gayyath Nasser, an attorney of law working for the Palestinian Authority, who came to visit the family which pleaded for him to object to the order and try to win  them a respite so they can apply for construction permits. However, the high costs of the application and the difficult financial situation of the family disallowed them to object.

The residence is a 35-m2-caravan which was offered by UN OCHA after the family lost its residence  on January 25, 2012. The owner was left worried on the future of her children if they lost their other house while, at the same time, the nearby Karmael colony is expanding rapidly.

On the other hand, Eid al Hathaleen said that on June 16, 2012 a group of colonists attacked the shepherds scattered around the old wells and chased them out while showering them with foul language.
