Violation: cutting 20 olive trees down.

Perpetrators: Maon colonists.

Victims: Suleiman and Ahmad Rib’i.

 

Details:

 

On May 13, 2012, colonists of Maon cut 20 olive trees down in Al Hamra area near at Tawani. Suleiman Rib’I said to an LRC observer that colonists sawed some trees and broke branches of others during the night.

Suleiman said that they informed the Israeli Police which came in accompanied by a tracker. The tracker found ‘traces of people walking from to Maon’. Rib’I said that he filed an official complaint to the Police which did nothing in response.

Al Hamra is located about 500 meters to the south of Maon colony.  It has been a target of colonists’ aggressions for years. Especially, Al Kharouba area which is planted with grains; colonists usually set their cattle free in the area, damaging all kinds of crops.
