On May 6, 2012, the Israeli Occupation Authorities demolished a cistern in Wadi Hora area, eastern Hebron; the doers also ravaged some trees around the cistern. Maher stated that he learned of the demolition that occurred in the plot which he bought 12 years ago and rushed into the area.

He found that the Israeli Occupation Army had already demolished the cistern which was there long before he bought the land. The assailants also blocked the unpaved road leading to the farm.

He pointed that the cistern is 200 m3 in volume which was excavated in rocks and have a concrete ceiling. It was used to irrigate a 17-dunum-field. He said that they did not receive any previous warnings. He also pointed that his field has been a target many times as the gate and the fence were removed earlier.

Lately, the Israeli Occupation Authorities have been targeting the water sources in the West Bank. In Hebron, ten cisterns were demolished in the last month.
