In spite of the high temperature and the difficult life the people of Fasayil are leading, families like Ghazzal family who were forced to move to Fasayil to look the basic needs of life, the Israeli dozers destroyed everything that belonged to the family, rendering them homeless.

The same goes for tens of nomads families who moved to Fasayil looking for a ‘better life’. On June 14, 2011, a large Israeli force accompanied by two dozers broke into Fasayil. The dozers started a large scale demolition campaign, leveling everything in their way from shacks to tents and even power cables. Such a campaign reflects the true Israeli intentions of uprooting the Palestinians from their lands.

Fasayil:
Fasayil is located 17 km to the north east of Jericho; according to the Israeli Organizational structures of 1981, the village built-up area should not exceed 122 dunums. According to the Village Council, the village is population is 1100 people. Most of the residents are Bedouins who came to the village searching for water and herding areas in addition to a minority of refugees. Most of the village lands are classified as ‘state property’ preventing the Palestinians from exploiting it in any possible way in addition to chasing them out and threatening their simple shelters.
It must be pointed that the residents have been pleading over and over to the Israeli Supreme Court to authorize living there. Nonetheless, in 2008, the Court ruled in favor of the ‘State of Israel’ and ordered the evacuation of the Palestinians. More than 140 Palestinians are on the verge of expulsion.
On the other hand, Israeli colonies in the area are expanding rapidly; the village is surrounded by several colonies, Bitsayel and Yavit besides edging the by-pass road ’90’ (north), Tumer, Netiv Hagedud, and Gilgal (south). The Israelis are trying to drive the residents out in order to make taking over the area an easier process.
