Eviction Orders Al Fawwar Refugee Camp – Hebron Governorate

Eviction Orders Al Fawwar Refugee Camp – Hebron Governorate
Violation: eviction orders for agricultural lands.
Date: May 2, 2011.
Victims: residents of Al Fawwar.
Location: Al Qre’ Mountain, al Fawwar, Hebron.
Perpetrators:  the Israeli Occupation Army, Civil Administration, and Central Inspection Committee.

Details:
The Israeli occupation Authorities issued eviction orders designated against tens of dunums of lands in Al Fawwar. The orders were issued on May 2, 2011 under the signature of the Central Inspection Committee, a body of the Israeli occupation Civil Administration and were entitled ‘immediate eviction orders’. The orders were numbered (485 to 493).

The Orders:
The orders stated that ‘the lands are owned illegally’ and demanded ‘evacuating the lands and returning to the status quo within 45 days’. They also said that in case the owners do not comply the Israelis will evacuate the lands on the owners’ expense. The orders included aerial photographs of the threatened lands; it could be seen that the Israeli Occupation Authorities referred to the threatened lands as part of Beit Haggai; a colony located to the north east of the endangered location.

Under the term, land specification and felony, the Israelis claim that the area is a ‘training ground’. Because the orders completely neglect the owners; they were only hanged around the designated lands without actually delivering them.

Endangered Lands:
The endangered lands are located at the top of Al Qre’ Mountain to the north of Al Fawwar. The PARC conducted a rehabilitation program in the area that targeted more than 110 dunums. Some of the owners even built houses and agricultural structures in the area.

Jibreel al Sarahna, one of the victims, stated that many of Al Fawwar residents bought lands in the area from ‘Amr’ family during the 1980’s and 1990’s. The landlords condemned the Israeli call and described such measures as the same outrageous measures that drove them out of their villages in 1948.
