Stop Work Orders in the Village of Broqin – Salfeet Governorate

On October 29th, 2008 the so-called Israeli “Civil Administration” issued Stop Work orders against 7 houses located in the village of Broqin under the pretext of building without a permit in Area C. The threatened houses were built in the time period between 2006 and 2008. The following table lists the targeted houses and its relevant information:

As such, 32 Palestinian are haunted with the threat of being displaced and left homeless in case Israeli occupation authorities carryout their threat of demolishing. The Orders stipulated that house owners have until the 27th of November, 2008 to file for a building permit with Organization Committee in the Civil Administration in Bet El. Broqin Village: General Information

The village of Broqin is located 13 kilometers west of the city of Salfeet. Its 3500 residents depend on agriculture as the main source of income. The total area of the village is approximately 13273 dunums of which 1336 dunums comprises its built-up area. Around 1200 dunums are planted with olive trees while an additional 3000 dunums are used for grazing purposes and 8000 dunums were confiscated for expanding the three colonies built on villages’ lands.
