This report highlights the events concerning colonizing activities in the West Bank and Gaza that occurred between the months of February and April. The report describes and evaluates those events and their effects on the Palestinian community. The report also tries to predict the repercussions expected in the future as a result of those events.

Israeli bulldozers demolished a three- storey house and a wall in Al- Ram town between Jerusalem and Ramallah. The house is owned by Mr. Salah Al- Rishiq. The demolition was carried out under the pretext of unlicensing, while Palestinian believe it was done as a vengeance for the killing of an Israeli settler in the area

The local affairs court in Jerusalem issued a resolution postponing the demolished of a building comprised of 12 apartments and owned by Mr. Badawi Al- Qawasmeh. The building is located between Beit Hanina nad Al _Ram. Earlier, the Israeli high court decided to demolish the building before 31.1.2001.

The Jerusalem Municipality court imposed a 300 000 NIS fine on Mr. Saleh Al- Salaimeh who lives in Jerusalem for building without a license.

Israeli Land Authorities (Keren Ki'met) started to level land cultivated with serials at the eastern slopes of Jabal Al- Mukaber in Jerusalem owned by the families of Mish'al and Shqirat. The area of the land is 10 dunums. Forest trees have been planted by the Israeli authorities to confirm their confiscation of the land prior to the construction of 200 housing units for the exclusive Israeli use in this area. It is worth to mention that in 1972, the Israeli authorities had confiscated more than 2000 dunums from Jabal Al- Mukaber land to build the current settlement of Armon.

- Israeli bulldozers demolished a building under construction owned by Sheik Mohammed Sa'id Al- Jamal in Al- Ezariya ( Bethany). The building which comprised a mosque, school, playground, pool and well was 750 m2. The construction costs are estimated at 250 000 US $.
- Israeli bulldozers demolished a 20 m2 retaining wall for Al- Zaru family in Al- Ezariya. Another 50 m2 retaining wall was destroyed in Beit Hanina.

Israeli authorities destroyed a house under construction owned by Mr. Ibrahim Qirish. This destruction was the second of its kind in a year. The homes and barracks of Mr. Khalid Radadeh, Salah Ghawi and Ghaleb Razim were also demolished. They are all located in Al- Ezariya and Al- Za'im.

- Israeli bulldozers demolished the house of Mr. Salim Shawamreh in Anata for the third time. Three barracks owned by Mr. Mohammed Kurshan, Abed Kurshan and Daud Kurshan were demolished in the same area under the pretext of un-licensing. Water and telephone lines were damaged during the demolition process.
- Israeli occupation authorities devastated dozens of dunums of agricultural land in Anata and Isawiya owned by Mr. Khader Saleh, Maher Muheisen, Mahmud Hamdan, Hani Isawi and Mohammed Dirbas. Water pipes were also damaged.

The Israeli government published a tender to build 496 housing units in Ma'aleh Adumim settlement.

The Israeli government intends to destroy three houses owned by Mr. Rafiq Kharuf in Sheik Jarrah. The houses will be destroyed to make room for the construction of the tunnel road which is 25 meters wide.

The Jerusalem municipality bulldozers are currently destroying tombs in St. Mary's cemetery near Getsemany garden to make space for the building of a road there. The cemetery is owned by the orthodox community.

Israeli army occupied a 5 storey building in Kufr Aqab north of Jerusalem. The building which is owned by Mr. Ibrahim Qasas, was changed to a military garrison and observation point.

Israeli antiquities authorities and Jerusalem municipality continue to dig and built underground installations from Jafa gate passing through the Morocan gate down to Silwan village. On the other hand, digging works are under way in the southern and western sides of Al- Aqsa Mosque.
The Gaza Strip

Israeli bulldozers closed a number of agricultural roads leading to farms and green houses in Al- Sifa area north of Beit Lahiah.

Israeli bulldozers destroyed more than 20 dunums of land cultivated with potatoes and olive trees in Khan Yunis owned by Mr. Abdul Najar Tabasi and Mr. Mohammed Tabasi. Irrigation systems, wells and green houses were aslo destroyed near the settlement of Muraj. 15 dunums planted with palm trees and olives owned by Mr. Hamdi Al-Misri were uprooted at the same area. 500 olive trees and three dunums planted with potatoes and owned by Mr. Hamuda Al- Misri were uprooted as well. 20 another dunums of adjacent land were leveled by Israeli bulldozers.

Israeli bulldozers continued to devastate hundreds of dunums of land near the settlement of Neve Dikalim owned by the families of Najar, Zu'rub and Al- Sha'ir. Dozens of guava and palm trees owned by Al- Abadleh family near the settlement of Nitser Hazani north of Khan Yunis were uprooted.

Israeli soldiers seized the house of Mr. Khalaf Abu- Hajaj in Wadi Salaqa near Qarara (Khan Yunis). The house is 200 m2 and built of two levels. It was turned to a military garrison.. In addition, 50 fruitful trees and 6 dunums owned by Mr. Sulieman Gharaizeh were leveled in the same area. In Beit Lahiah, Israeli bulldozers destroyed many green houses and two wells used to provide water for agricultural land in the area.

Israeli forces annexed 150 dunums of land to Kefar Darum settlement. The confiscated land which is owned by the families of Abu-Samra, Abu -Bashir and Ja'farawi was encircled with barbed wires. On the other hand, Israeli forces destroyed a house belonging to Abu- Samra family in Dir Al -Balah which was inhabited by 14 members. 24 dunums of land planted with a number of olive trees were destroyed around the house. On last January17th, Israeli forces destroyed two wells and a green house belonging to the same family, in addition to the uprooting of 260 olive, fruit and citrus trees.

7 houses in Al- salam quarter in rafah were demolished and bulldozed and more than 30 dunums of cultivated land owned by the families of Qishta and Al- Sha'ir were also devastated.

A report issued by the Palestinian Center for Human Rights confirmed that from the beginning of the Intifada until February 15th, about 7024 dunums of land had been bulldozed. The report added that 78.2% of bulldozed land is agricultural one, while the remaining percentage is forest and sand land. These numbers do not include the areas of homes and premises destroyed.

Rafah governor said that the Israeli authorities bulldozed 1500 dunums of land in different areas in the governorate and more than 16 000 trees and 100 green houses were destroyed. The governor estimated the losses in the agricultural field at 4 million dollars since the beginning of Intifada.

At the beginning of this year, the Israeli forces had devastated more than 70 dunums from Duhnyyeh checkpoint up to Sofa cross point as part of their destructive campaign against Palestinian land and agriculture.

More than 100 dunums of land planted with olive and citrus trees were destroyed east of Beit Lahyyia The land is owned by Mr. Attiah Ghunim, Mr. Ibrahim Abu- Sala'a, Mr. Jamil Abed, Mr.Rabi' Badawi, Mr. Mohammed Khader, Mr. Abdel Rahman Khader, Mr. Musa Rihan, Mr. Riad Khar, Mr. Abdel Rahim Derwaneh, Mr. Mohammed Jamil Darduna, Mr. Ahmad Darduna, Mohammed Darduna, Mr. Ali Al- Bursh and Mr. Ali Sultan.

15 dunums of land were destroyed in Deir Al- balah west of Kefar Darum. They are owned by the families of Abu- Nuseir, Al- Falit, Al- tawashi, Al- Laham and Qidrah. It was cultivated with olives and figs.

Israeli forces bulldozed 7 dunums covered with green houses close to to Muraj junction north of Rafah. The land belongs to brothers Ayub and Ramadan Dheir and it was planted with tomatoes and cucumbers.

Israeli occupation forces destroyed hundreds of dunums of agricultural land east of Deir Al- Balah cultivated with fruit and olive trees.

Israeli forces leveled land and a well in Al- Ja'farawi quarter south of Kefar Darum settlement in Deir Al- Balah.

Israeli forces bulldozed dozens of dunums along the border line between Gaza and Israel. The land is owned by Mr. Fawzi Abdul Rahim, Suleiman Abu- Ta'imah and Marzuq Abu- Farhaneh. It was planted with almond, olive and wheat.

Israeli forces bulldozed the agricultural area west of the settlement of Dogheit. The land was planted with citrus, guava and vegs. The total area of the land devastated is 28 dunums.

65 dunums and 10 green houses were destroyed in Beit Lahia. They are owned by Mr. Atallah Tarazi, Yaser Zindah, Ahmad Shahin and Mr. Baker Tafish.

500 m2 of land were destroyed in Al- Shawka area east of Rafah which was planted with vegs and almonds.

Israeli bulldozers destroyed 5 green houses and uprooted more than 500 olive, almond and peach trees owned by the families of Abu- Jarqun, Abu- Amreh, Abu-Doga and Abu- Holi. The land is located south east of Khan Yunis near Sofa junction.
