Description:
The Israeli occupation machineries continue the ravaging works on “Al-Qa’ada” lands west Yasouf , in the day of preparing this report, the ravaging works reached 25 dunums for the construction of new facilities related to “Kfar Tapuach” south Yasouf village.
This step had a major impact represented in confiscating 60 dunums around the targeted area. Thus, a new reality is being imposed on the ground , which will expand the settlement twice its size.
The targeted land belong to “’Abaya” family from Yasouf , where the occupation took over plots between 2000-2006 with military orders , the plots gradually leaked for the expansion of the settlement.
Village council head , Nasha’t Abdul Fatah told LRC reporter:
“Two years ago, the occupation forces sealed off “Adh-Dhahrat” and “Al-Qa’ada” areas via cement blocks leveling to completely seal off the area , this was followed by a total Judaization of the area, which is more than 150 dunums , settlers carried out several attacks , and the occupation forces imposed restrictions that prevented farmers from reaching their plots.
Noteworthy , “Kfar Tapuach” settlement has a strategic location in the heart of West Bank. It is also considered a linking point for Israeli settlements in Salfit, most importantly “Ariel”. Thus , the occupation worked very hard to develop the infrastructure of the settlements to insure its future development.
In the recent years the occupation modified Kfar Tabuach’s organizational plan several times for infrastructural development, while Palestinian villages suffer from small built up area that does not suit demographic expansion , which created a huge crisis that we will see its effects in the coming years.
Yasuf: [1]
It is 16km south of Nablus. Yasuf is surrounded by Huwara and Jamma’in (north), Marda (west), Yatma (east), and Iskaka (south).
Yasuf is inhabited by 2093 people (according to 2017 census). It has a total area of 6037 dunums, 330 of which are built-up area of the village.
The Israeli occupation confiscated 814 dunums for these two colonies: Kfar Tapuah colony which was built on Yasuf lands in 1978. The colony is inhabited by 523 colonists and Rachelim- Shvut that was built in 1991 and devoured 10 dunums.
Besides, the bypass road number 508 confiscated more than 155 dunums of the village lands.
According to Oslo Accords, only 1427 dunums of Yasuf lands are under Area B (PA is in charge of civil matters with Israel responsible for security) while most of Yasuf is under Area C (Israel maintains full security and administrative control). About of 4609 dunums of Yasuf is in area C.
