- Violation: ravaging Palestinian lands
- Location: Qaryut village – Nablus
- Date: January 01, 2017
- Perpetrators: Shilo colonists
- Victims: some Qaryut farmers
Details:
Since the beginning of January 2017, Shilo colonists were reported to ravage an area of 60 dunums from the agricultural lands of west Qaryut village; more specifically in the area known as Al-Tfuf within the natural block number 1.
According to field visits, colonists fenced the targeted area before starting the ravaging act in an obvious step of take-over.
It should be noted that the targeted area is one of the locations that the occupation require owners to have prior coordination before accessing despite the fact that the area is located outside the colony's periphery.
Citizen Bashar Qaryuti told Land Research Center that the targeted lands used to be agriculturally productive. Farmers cultivated them with wheat and other crops. Fifteen years ago, colonists escalated their attacks and the occupation declared the area's lands confiscated on the claim of them being "state lands".
Qaryuti explained that the village council coordinated with one human rights organization to object to colonists' acts of take-over and that the case is still pending in Israeli court.
It is reported that the targeted lands belong to the following farmers from Qaryut:
- Amad Kassab
- Marwan Kassab
- Hamid Allan
- Sudqi Allan
- Yousef Azem
- Khairi Azem
- Abdallah Mu'amar
- Heirs of Mohammad Mu'amar
