On December 12, 2011, Israeli troops broke into Al Ma,oun raod in Beit Hanina and demolished ‘Suzie Beauty Saloon’.The saloon is owned by Sufyan Hadya and is considered the only source of income for his 8-member-family.

The owner stated to an LRC observer:’ I rented the shop from the owner, Maysar Najib in June, 2011 for five hundred dollars a month.I rehabilitated the 30-m2-garage and changed it into a beauty saloon; the process cost me around 60,000 ILS including furniture and equipment. 4 months ago, the Israeli Municipality placed an administrative demolition order on the saloon door. I informed the owner who said that he has already hired a lawyer to follow the case. We have not in contact with the Municipality till the day I received a phone call from one of my neighbors telling me that the Israelis had demolished the saloon. Minutes later, I was in the scene to see a pile of rubble before my eyes; it took them minutes to commit their crime’.
One of the neighbors stated:’ the Municipality is chasing Palestinians in their house, their living, their sources of income; what Municipality is this that destroys us, steal us through taxes and penalties; use our own money to buy bullets to kill us, dozers to demolish our houses’.
