Details:
As part of the Israeli demographic war, on June 11, 2012, the Israeli Occupation Authorities handed two Palestinian families stop-work orders for under-construction residences on the pretext of failure to acquire a construction permit. The orders set July 13, 2012 as the date of a hearing session to be held in Beit El Military Court to decide on the fate of the structures.

It must be noted that Far’un is the most targeted village in TulKarm area; 55 stop-work or demolition orders have been issued for structures in the village since 2002. In addition, the Israeli completely reject any plan to enlarge the village’s organizational plan in order to make it cope with the natural growth. At the same time, the village’s lands on the western side are being devoured by the expansion of ‘Iyal’ checkpoint which had drastic effects on the stability of the village.
Far’un is located 3 km to the south of TulKarm, edging the armistice line. Its total area is 8000 dunums which were reduced to 4000 due to the construction of the segregation wall. It is inhabited by 3500 people, most of them are farmers.
70 % of the village lands are planted with olives and citrus; however, the planted area is shrinking due to water shortage and land confiscations.
