Violation: stop-work orders for 5 structures.
Location: Ad Dyuk, west of Jericho.
Date: August 1, 2012.
Victims: 3 families, a total of 20 people including 11 children.
Details:
Samir al Rashayda (61) was devastated when he was handed an order for dismantling a residential tent inhabited by his 9-member-family and a barn for unlicensed construction. He received a different order a year earlier when the Israelis ordered him to evacuate the tent for ‘security reasons’. The incident brought back memories of the displacement of Al Rashayda family in 1948 when they were forced out of their homes in Beer Sheva.

Al Rashayda moved to southern Hebron area but a large portion of them was forced to move again because of the Israeli confiscation of their cattle and tents. However, the Israeli racist policies disallow the Palestinians from living or even accessing certain areas of the West Bank, that includes Ad Dyuk area where a number of structures were demolished and many others are awaiting.
On August 1, 2012, Israeli troops broke into Ad Dyuk area and handed 3 families stop-work orders designated for 5 structures. The orders set September 11, 2012 as the date of a hearing session to be held in Beit El Military Court in regard to the designated structures.
