As part of the Israeli plans of emptying the goree brink area east of Deer Dwina village in Ramallah district in order to expand the settlement of “Mekhmas” and “Kuhav Yasheer” that are both situated on confiscated agricultural landscapes , the Israeli offense forces along with the so called “Organization and Construction Committee” which is a part of the so called Israeli Occupation “Civil Administration” raided the Mlehat clans compound that inhabits Maghayer al Deer area on the 12th of August 2012. Bearing in mind that the so called civil administration have handed four bedouin villages warrants ordering them to stop the construction works of their households and agricultural land under the pretext of construction with no license in a C classified area (according to Oslo Accord) where the Israeli authorities have set the 12th of September 2012 as a date for the trials. It is worthy noting that these warrants will force 4 families consisting of 28 individuals in which 20 of them are children to be displaced of there homes again bearing in mind that the warned buildings are 6 households and 6 farm houses build from clay and fiber. It is also worth noting that the same warned families have been damaged from previous warrants, particularly in the 25th of November last year.
Figure1-4 : General View for Al-Mlehat clans
The Mlehat Bedouin clans assemble east of Deer Dwin, particularly in Maghyar al-Deer area. This assembly of Mlehat clans is considered as the second biggest in the West Bank thus the Biggest is situated in Almuarjat area. It consists of about 250 families with average of 3 persons per family. (about 750 people) who have been living there for 35 years. They mainly live in farm houses made of aluminum and depend on herding sheep as their major source of income. The origins of the people is traced back to Beersheva (Be’er Al Sabe’) area occupied in 1948 thus they were expelled to the West Bank where they moved into different areas. It is worth mentioning that Al-Mleeha clans have been also expelled from Al-Irqa area east to Deer Diwan village to Maghyer Al deer area, which is located 7 kilometer away from it in mid 80s after declaring it as a closed military zone by the Israeli Forces. Al Mlehat have been living there since mid 80s until this moment as there happen to be some turbulences due to the consistent targeting of its people and properties by IOF which might be an indicator of another catastrophic diaspora similar to what happened in 1948.
