Violation: demolition of 3 residences, 6 barracks and three barns
Location: Arab Al-Kaa’bnah community- Ramallah
Date: September 03, 2015
Perpetrators: the Israeli occupation army
Victims: 3 Bedouin families (15 members including 8 children)
Details:
A massive force from the Israeli occupation army accompanied by a military dozer on September 03, 2015 raided the area of Al-Musakkara, east Al-Teibih village in Ramallah. Noteworthy, the location is founded next to Rimmonim colony and is separated from it by the so-called Alon bypass road.
The force then embarked on demolishing 3 residences, 6 agricultural barracks and some barns for sheep. Noteworthy, livestock husbandry is considered the main source of income from the area’s residents. As a result, around 3 Bedouin families (14 members including 8 children) became homeless and were left mercilessly in the open.

It should be marked that some of the demolished structures were served stop-work orders in 2012 under the claim of “unlicensed construction”. During that time, the residents managed to obtain a precautionary decision to delay the demolition until they were eventually informed of the demolition by late 2014.
It should be also marked that the community is only inhabited by 6 families relative to Al-Kaa’bnah family since 20 years ago. Residents of the community have been constantly targeted by the occupation for the sake of pushing them to leave the area. The following table shows information about the affected people due to the demolition:

Land Research Center LRC sees that demolitions contradict with all of the International conventions and Humanitarian laws including:
- Article 17 of the (1948) Universal Declaration of Human Rights stating: “Everyone has the right to own property alone as well as in association with others. No one shall be arbitrarily deprived of his property.”
- Section ‹G› of article 23 of the (1907) The Hague Conventions asserting: “In addition to the prohibitions provided by special Conventions, it is especially forbidden to destroy or seize the enemy's property, unless such destruction or seizure be imperatively demanded by the necessities of war.”
- Article 53 of the Geneva Fourth Convention (1948) declaring: “Any destruction by the Occupying Power of real or personal property belonging individually or collectively to private persons, or to the State, or to other public authorities, or to social or cooperative organizations, is prohibited, except where such destruction is rendered absolutely necessary by military operations.”
- Section 1, Article 11 of the International Covenant on Economic, Social and Cultural Rights (1966): “The States Parties to the present Covenant recognize the right of everyone to an adequate standard of living for himself and his family, including adequate food, clothing and housing, and to the continuous improvement of living conditions. The States Parties will take appropriate steps to ensure the realization of this right, recognizing to this effect the essential importance of international co-operation based on free consent."
