The Israeli Occupation Ravages a main Road in Ya’bad town / Jenin Governorate

Description:

Tuesday, October 19^th 2021, The Israeli Occupation accompanied by the building and organization subcommittee carried on ravaging and destroying a main road in Ya’bad town southwest Jenin city, the occupation’s bulldozers completely removed the asphalt from the road after closing it via earth mounds.

It was reported , Tuesday, October 12^th 2021, that the building inspector at the Israeli Civil Administration issued military order numbered (10040), that ordered the removal of a main road under military order (1797), the road links Ya’bad town and Khirbet Imreha.

Views of the road after the destruction

After destroying this road , about 9 roads at the town became closed or destroyed by the occupation , 1 of them is a paved road and 8 are agricultural roads located south the town and provide access to 2600 dunums of the town’s lands that are threatened of Colonization due to Mevodotan colony .

The targeted road was rehabilitated last June with Funding from Municipalities fund and supervision of Local Governance, the road is 1 km* 6 m , and in September 23^rd 2021 the occupation forces closed off the road via earth mounds.

The town of Ya’bad: [1]

Ya’bad is located 18 km to the southwest of Jenin. 

Its population is 16,012, according to the 2017 census. Its total area is 29,572 dunums, of which 1,814 dunums are a built-up area.

The occupation has confiscated an area of ​​1,840 dunums of its lands, as detailed below:

1. 483 dunums for the construction of the settlements of Mevo Dotan and Hermesh.
2. 1357 dunums in favor of building bypass roads No. 596 and No. 585.

The lands of the town are classified according to the Oslo Accords as follows:

• Areas classified (A) 1674 dunums.
• Areas classified (B) 8124 dunums.
• Areas classified (C) 19774 dunums.
