A group of Colonists from the illegal colony of Ma’on uprooted and looted olive saplings from an olive grove in At-Tawani \ Yatta.
Hafiz Al-Hraini (55) told LRC :
“I own a 2 dunums plot in Al-Khaleh area east At-Tawani village, in August 2020 I planted the plot with olive Saplings , each one of the saplings cost 55 shekels , and aged 5 years old , and I ‘ve been taking care of the plants since then. However, Thursday morning Dec 24th , I went to my plot , and found out that the saplings were uprooted and looted.”
Al-Hraini points accusations fingers to Ma’on colonists, Ma’on is built on confiscated lands only 100 m away to the north of his olive grove.
Al- Hraini called the Israeli police and reported the assault, but they did not do anything and didn’t even come to the site of the attack, he also pointed out that illegal colonists targeted his plot twice before , and he filed complaints to the Israeli police both times but nothing was actually done to protect his plot.
Noteworthy, agricultural lands in At-Tawani are heavily targeted by colonists assaults , who also attack homes and loot properties.
