Violation details:
On Tuesday, November 17, 2020, the Israeli occupation authorities posted a number of demolition notices against homes and facilities owned by citizens in MasaferYatta, south of Hebron, under the pretext of building them without permission, based on Military the Order No. 1797 issued in 2018.
A vehicle belonging to the so-called Planning and Building Department of the Civil Administration, accompanied by a patrol of the Israeli army raided the villages of MasaferYatta. The so-called building inspector in the Israeli Planning Department wrote notices and posted them on the targeted buildings, and took pictures of them before leaving the site.
In its notices, the occupation authorities demanded the demolition and removal of the buildings immediately, and threatened that if the citizen did not do so, they would take it upon themselves to implement the notice and demolish the buildings 96 hours after the date of issuance of the notice.
The notices targeted the following buildings and facilities:
- Notice No. 20452, concerning the house of Mr. RasmiYusef Muhammad Abu Aram, located the village of Al-Rakiz. The targeted house is built of bricks and roofed with tin panels, and has an area of 50 square meters. It is inhabited by a family of 8, including 6 children.

Notice No. 20453 concerning an agricultural room owned by Mr. Hatem Mahmoud Makhamreh, whom he had established in his agricultural land in the village of Al-Mufqra, with an area of 30 square meters and still under construction -unroofed;

- Notice No. 20454 concerning a water line -plastic pipes- linking the two villages of Al Majaz and Isfai with a length of about 1.5 km. The targeted water pipe transports water to the village of Isfai, which is inhabited by about 100 people, and is the only source of water for domestic use.

- Notice No. 20455 targeting a toilet unit -an outdoor bathroom- owned by Mr.Jamil Mahmoud Al-Amor, whom he had built next to the cave in which he resides in the village of Sarurah.

It should be noted that the occupation authorities have relied on Military Order No. 1797 issued in the year 2018 which targets newly constructed buildings inhabited less than a month. So Far, the occupation courts refuse to consider objections submitted by citizens to these types of notices.

MasaferYatta is considered the largest among the rest of the Palestinian wilderness extending on the eastern slopes of the West Bank.
As such, it is considered the most comprehensive of Palestinian rural and Bedouin communities spreading on agricultural and pastoral lands, and the profession of livestock breeding is the basic profession of Palestinians who live in this vast area. .
Statistics:
– MasaferYatta has an area of about 36,000 dunums, extending to the borders of the Palestinian territories occupied in 1948.
– The number of residential areas in it is about 15 rural and Bedouin communities, inhabited by 1606 people.
– This area is part of zone “C” of the Oslo Agreement, and is subject to full Israeli control, administratively and militarily.
