Description:
Early June 2020, a group of fanatic settlers set up few tents to the east of At-Tayba village northeast Ramallah.
Reportedly, settlers set up about 9 tents randomly on an area of 15 dunums of postures; the targeted area is situated 1 km to the north of the illegal Israeli settlement “Rimonim” .
Human Rights activist Eyad Haddad from Ramallah told LRC the following:
“Settlers’ gangs in Cooperation with the Israeli Settlements Council take over Palestinian lands and start new outposts few tens of meters away from large settlements, which levels to take control over vast areas between the outpost and the settlement under the guise of security, this is plain now in a new outpost established between “Rimonim” and “Kokhav Hashaher” settlements that levels to close off hundreds dunums of agricultural lands in Ramallah. Consequently, expand the area controlled by illegal Israeli settlers in the West Bank.”
Between 2019 and 2020, Land Research Center monitoring Israeli violations team reported establishment of two outposts around “Rimonim” and “Kokhav Hashaher” settlements.
Israeli settlers residing such outposts carry out frequent attacks targeting Palestinian farmers, their farms and properties , tens of such attacks are reported each year , most recent attack was represented in setting fire in 32 dunums planted with wheat in Ein Samiya belong to farmers from Al-Ghneimat family.
About At-Tayba village (Ramallah):[1]
15 Km to the east of Ramallah , At-Tayba is surrounded by Deir Jarir village (North) , Silwad village (west) and Al-Mu’arijat (east), At-Tayba is blocked by Kukhav Hashaher and Rimunim illegal settlements from the south.
At-Tayba has a population o 1340 people according to 2017 census , while the village has a total area of 22,969 dunums of which 732 dunums are a built up area. The Israeli Occupation 1,738 dunums of At-Tayba lands for the following purposes:
