Description:
Sunday , The Israeli Occupation forces accompanied by the Building and Organization officer raided Qarawat Bani Hassan village West Salfit, and served halt of work notices to three families in the area on their residential and agricultural facilities , on the pretext of building without licenses in C area.
The notices were entitled “Halt of work and construction notices” , and set May 4th for the subcommittee session In Beit El military court to decide the fate of the structure.
Only one week before that, the occupation authorities served dozens of military orders , one of them targeted a retaining wall constructed by Qarawat Bani Husan’s municipality few months ago (150 m2 * 1 m) , other notices targeted 9 under construction houses , and 3 inhabited houses , while 6 notices targeted agricultural rooms and facilities , in addition to 4 water harvesting cisterns with a total area of 80 m3, the cisterns were implemented by PARC, with the supervision of the ministry of the Ministry of Agriculture.
Reportedly , the targeted location has a great nature and located on the sides of Wadi Qana , but the occupation devoured vast areas of its lands for colonial expansion , after they constructed “Havat Yaer” illegal settlement only 500 m away , and “Revava” settlement only 1 kilometer away , but their greed is endless as they still trying to take over more lands. Member of the agricultural committee and activist Ayoub Al-‘Assi told LRC :
“Qarawat Bani Husan suffers from the small built up area in comparison with the population , tens of families had to build outside the structural plan. As a result , the occupation carried out mass demolition operations razing tens of houses and agricultural facilities , the occupation also imposed closure on vast areas of lands to impose realities on the ground and use them in colonial expansion.”

The village is located 12 km northwest Salfit.
Qarawat Bani Hasan is edged by Biddya village from the west, Sutra from the south ,Deir Istiya from the north and Haris from the east. Qarawat Bani Hussan has a total population of 5513 people (2017 PCBS census).
The village has a total area of 9,443 dunums , of which 565 dunums are a built up area. Israeli settlements devoured (324) dunums for the following settlements:
