Tuesday , October 29th 2019 , the occupation municipality demolished a caravan in Al-‘Isawiya, on the pretext of building without licenses from the occupation municipality.
The caravan belongs to Ishaq Hamdan , and built of strengthened plastic sheets and plaster, and has a total area of 50 m2.
Since the early morning hours , the occupation forces launched a demolition campaign. The Israeli occupation forces closed up the area, then the bulldozers completely leveled the caravan to the ground, then ravaged the plot . Noteworthy, the owner said that he did not receive any preceding military orders from the occupation’s court.
Demolishing a car-wash facility:
The occupation bulldozers also demolished a room built of bricks , and has an area of 50 m2 belongs to Loay Mansour , who built it only few months ago, he told LRC : the demolition was not preceded by any demolition orders and that he did not see that coming , the demolition took an hour , at that time the area was completely closed.
The occupation authorities are imposing difficult conditions on people of Al-‘Isawiya, under claims that boys of the village throw rocks and Molotov cocktails towards the Israeli occupation forces during their frequent raids to the village and to its houses.
International Conventions and agreements pertaining to demolition of facilities:
Article 147 of Geneva fourth convention : extensive destruction and appropriation of property, not justified by military necessity and carried out unlawfully and wantonly. ( it is considered a serious violation of the convention)
Article 53 of Geneva fourth convention that forbids destroying properties : Any destruction by the Occupying Power of real or personal property belonging individually or collectively to private persons, or to the State, or to other public authorities, or to social or co-operative organizations, is prohibited, except where such destruction is rendered absolutely necessary by military operations.
Article 33 of Geneva fourth convention: No protected person may be punished for an offence he or she has not personally committed.
Article 32 of Hague convention 1907 part g: To destroy or seize the enemy’s property, unless such destruction or seizure be imperatively demanded by the necessities of war.
Article 17 of Universal declaration of human rights 10 –Dec- 1948: No one shall be arbitrarily deprived of his property.
