Stop-work orders on residences  in the Hebron town of AL-Samou

Details:

 Israeli Occupation Authorities served on January 27, 2018 stop-work orders on residences  in Al-Samou'  town in Hebron governorate on the claim of "unlicensed construction" within area classified "C" according to Oslo Accords.

The affected citizens said that a vehicle from Israel Civil Administration arrived at the location, issued the orders and hanged them to the targeted houses, and took photos of the structures before the force had left.

The orders assigned February 08, 2018 as the hearing session of the Inspection Sub-Committee in the Israeli court of Beit El colony to consider whether to demolish the target structures or restore their previous status.

Previous stop-work order:

Israeli Occupation Authorities notified the structures of citizen Raed Al-Daghameen of stop-work on March 05, 2017 on the claim of unlicensed construction. The structures are located in Al-Jamama area.

The military orders targeted the following structures:

  1. Tin-roofed residence: it is a home for twelve member family including seven children. The structure was gifted by an aid organization after the occupation demolished the owner's only house in 2016.  The residence is only 30m2 in area.
  2. Outdoor toilet: it is 3m2 in area and was gifted by an aid organization.
  3. Tent : it is 40m2 in area and is used for sheep.\
  4. Solar panels: three panels gifted by Commit Me organization.
  5. Water well: it is of 100m3 in volume established since 2017.

About Al-Samou':

18 kilometer south of Hebron, Al-Samou' is surrounded by Yatta town  (north), Khirbet Dier Shams (west), Susiya colony (east), and Khirbet Ghuwein(south).

Al-Samou'  has a total population of 25340  people according to statistics conducted in 2044. It has a total area of 2786 dunums of which 93 dunums  are the village's built-up area.

The Israeli occupation devoured 2786 dunums of the lands of the village for the favor of the following:

Israeli colonies confiscated 284 dunums as follows:

  1. Shim'a colony : it was established in 1985 on 153 confiscated dunums and now populates 357 colonists
  2. Shale Levna colony: it was established in 1989 on 37 confiscated dunums and now populates 438 colonists
  3. Aslin colony: it was established in 2004 on 94 confiscated dunums

Moreover, bypass numbers (60, 317, 3178) took over 1610 dunums from the village lands.

The apartheid wall confiscated 892 dunums from the area and isolated 1065 dunums behind its construction.

Al-Samou' lands according to Oslo Accords:

  • Area A (12702) dunums
  • Area B (9947) dunums
  • Area C (22479) dunums
