Violation: evacuating a whole community
Location: Al-Ras Al-Ahmar hamlet- Tubas governorate
Date: August 20, 2015
Perpetrators: the Israeli occupation army
Victims: 15 Bedouin families
Details:
The Israeli occupation has been trying to take over the area of Palestinian Jordan Valley (Al-Ghoor) and to create a de facto that can never be changed in any way. Despite all, residents of the area insist on staying in their homes on their lands.
The community of Al-Ras Al-Ahmar is considered a living example of the Israeli violence and brutality on Palestinians ; not even a single structure in the community was safe from stop-work and demolition orders. In addition, the occupation is used to chase herders, transfer the area into closed military zones for training, confiscate water trucks and deprive residents from their basic rights and needs.
The Israeli occupation authorities on August20, 2015 served the community of Al-Ras Al-Ahmar “eviction warning” orders that included evacuating the area for a period of five days to conduct Israeli military trainings. This compelled 120 people (65% children and minors) that are relative to fifteen families to become homeless.
According to the orders, the training times will be as follows:
- August 30, 2015: from 6:00 a.m. until 12:00 a.m.
- September 01, 2015: from 6:00 a.m. until 12:00 a.m.
- September 02, 2015: from 6:00 a.m. until 12:00 a.m.
- September 08, 2015: from 6:00 a.m. until 12:00 a.m.
- September 09, 2015: from 6:00 a.m. until 12:00 a.m.

Destruction of the living reality:
It should be marked that the military trainings conducted in the area since 5 years ago had negative impacts that reached out the area’s environment and the living circumstances as well. As a result for transforming the pastures into training zones, hundreds of dunums were torched, rendering those lands unusable.
Environment and biodiversity of the area got badly affected; many types of plants and trees died due to the trainings. Also, a big number of people were injured where others have fallen martyrs or handicapped due to training leftovers in the area.
