Violation: leveling 70 dunums for a colony's expansion
Location: Kfar Qadum / Qalqiliya
Date: 20/11/2013
Perpetrators: Kedumim colonists
Victims: farmers of Qadum
Details:
The colony of Kedumim has been going under expansion, which is represented in ravaging more than 70 agricultural dunums from the lands of Kfar Qadum within the natural block no. 11, more specifically in the location of Khallet al-'Asher and Qatayin Salem.
It is indicated that the leveling operation came to serve the expansion of the colony's infrastructure. This is to attract more colonists to live in there. Noteworthy, more than 21 houses were built in the colony's periphery to achieve that goal.
It should be marked that this expansion comes within a colonial plan which is represented in opening tenders to construct more than 1500 colonial units in the West Bank and Jerusalem. Ironically, this comes in time with the Israeli-Palestinian peace talks.
