The Israeli Occupation Authorities issued 5 stop-work orders against residences in As Samu’ town on the pretext of no construction permits. Issa Mahareeq stated to an LRC observer: ‘on November 30, 2011, Israeli troops broke into Khallit al Karsana in the west and handed 5 families the orders.‘

The orders stated that the structures were constructed prior to receiving the necessary permits and obliged the owners to immediately stop construction. It also indicated that a hearing session is to be held on December 28, 2011 in Beit El Military Court in regard to the designated structures. 3 of the houses are inhabited, one is inhabited while the second storey is still under construction, and the fifth is still under construction.

Khallit al Karsana is located 4 km to the west of As Samu’ and edging bypass ’60’. In the 1990’s, the Israeli Occupation Authorities demolished two two-storey houses in the area as well as a shed. The demolitions were justified by the inability to acquire construction permits.
