Description:

Wednesday, May 11^th 2022 , The Israeli Occupation authorities implemented a mass demolition operation on houses and facilities in (At-Tawani , Al-Fakheer , Al-Markiz) in Masafer Yatta south Hebron , on the pretext of building without a license.

First: Demolition in At-Tawnai village

About 8:00 am, a massive army force , border guards , and the building and organization department at the  Israeli civil Administration , accompanied by two bulldozers (One of them is a Volvo , and the other one is a GCB) , and workers.

The Occupation authorities raided the eastern side of the village , targeting a house belongs to citizen Mohammed Raba’e , which is still under construction , and leveled it to the ground.

The Occupation authorities have been capturing citizen Mohammed Raba’e for 12 months , under security accusations.

The House owner told LRC the following:

“The Occupation authorities demolished the house which is built of bricks and cement with steal sheets ceiling , which we started building in March 2022 , with a total area of 100 m². The house is supposed to be a home for a family of 5 members , among them 3 children , the occupation demolished the house suddenly , after serving a halt of work notice in march on the pretext of building without a license , the owner prepared a legal file and submitted it , but the occupation carried out the demolition either way.”

Raba’e asserted: “The Occupation forces confiscated my tractor lasy April , while it was parked neary Najli’s house , all I know is that hey keep it in Kfar ‘Etzion colony.”

Second: Demolition in Al-Fakheet:

The Occupation Authorities and its bulldozers raided Al-Fakhit village east, which is located about 15 kilometer , and demolished a house and agricultural facility , without serving any preceding notices , according to the citizens , and belongs to citizens with names listed in the following table:

Affected citizen Mohammed Abu Sabha (45) told LRC:

“we were surprised by the Occupation and its bulldozers, when they arrived at our structures, and we expected that they will be demolished, but we didn’t receive any notices. In few seconds, the accompanying officer gave orders to evict the house, which terrorized children and women, they asked us to evict the houses and the accompanying workers threw our properties outside, then the machineries carried out the demolition.”  

Third: Demolition in Al-Markiz village

The Occupation authorities raided Al-Markiz village , about 8 km south Al-Fakheet village, targeting houses and facilities belong to An-Najjar family since before the occupation.

Mohammed An-Najjar pointed out that the occupation authorities destroyed several houses belong to several family members (a house for his grandmother and aunt, a house for his brother and father, and a house for his family.

An-Najjar said that the occupation forces carried out the demolition without any preceding notices. noting that the occupation carried out a Demolition operation against same family in December 2^nd 2021 that reached their facilities and barns, and barn.

This attacks on citizens houses and facilities followed a supreme court decision to forcedly displace people of Masafer Yatta , in order to use the area as “Fire zone -918” , around (32000) dunums are training zone for the soldiers.
