A house demolition order and stop work order in a livestock barn in the village of Arab al-Fraijat, south of Hebron

The violation details:

The Israeli occupation authorities raided the village of Arab al-Fraijat, southeast of the town of al-Ramadin, south of Hebron, on 20/3/2022 AD, and notified the demolition of the house of Ayat Salameh Muslim al-Daghamin, and to stop work in a livestock barn owned by her, under the pretext of un-licensing.

The demolition order:

Mrs. Al-Daghamin reported that a vehicle belonging to the Planning and Construction Department of the Israeli “Civil Administration” accompanied by a military vehicle arrived at the village, and the Civil Administration’s employee signed the demolition order and stuck it on the wall of the house. In the demolition order number 62078 the occupation authorities demanded to stop construction work and demolish what has been built and restore the place to its previous state within 7 days. The military order threatened that if the family did not implement the order, the occupation authorities would demolish the house and force the family to pay all the costs.

On December 19, 2021, the occupation authorities notified the owner to stop work in the house under the pretext of building it without a permit. In response to that warning, the lady began to prepare the licensing papers and documents and submitted them to the Israeli side, and authorized a lawyer to follow the case, but the occupation authorities refused the permit application, and, instead, issued an order to demolish the house.

The home has an area of 170 square meters, consisted of one floor and is built of stone and reinforced concrete, and it was supposed to house a family of 12 members including, 8 children, of whom there are 7 females.

The stop-work order:

Mrs. Al-Daghamin, also, received a notice to stop work on a livestock barn, which is 70-square-meter built of tin sheets on a concrete floor. The woman had got it built as a future project for her family.

The stop-work notice carriers the number of 31159 in which the occupation authorities wanted an immediate halt to the construction work in this facility, and set 11/4/2022 as a date for a session of the so-called Inspection Subcommittee to be held at its headquarters in the settlement of “Beth El” to discuss what it always calls   ” the demolition of the building or the restoration of the place to its previous state”.

It should be noted that the village of Arab Al-Fraijat is located to the east of the town of Arab Al-Ramadin.  Its population is about 1,000 people working in agriculture, livestock, the labor market and government jobs. This community is considered one of the closest centers to the 1948 armistice line, overlooking the city of Beersheba. The occupation authorities has set up a military checkpoint-Al-Zahiriya Crossing-leading to the occupied interior close to the village.
