Halt of Work Notices for Structures in Ad-Dhaheriya town / Hebron Governorate

Description:

July 11th 2021, the Israeli Occupation authorities issued halt of work notices, on the pretext of building without a license in Ad-Dhaheriya town south Hebron Governorate.

Citizens found the halt of work notices hanged on their structures nearby the road that links Ar-Ramadeen to Ad-Dhaheriya.

In the notices, the occupation authorities ordered the immediate stoppage of construction works, and sat July 26th 2021, as the date of the subcommittee session in Beit El military court to decide the fate of the structures.

The targeted facilities belong to:

  • Citizen ‘Umair At-Tell: Received a halt of work order number (31915) which targeted a plot with a total area of 2 dunums surrounded with a siege , the owner built a wooden cottage and a pool in the plot with a total area of (20 m2) , and supports a family that composes of (4 family members, 2 children ).

  • Citizen Maher Mahboub: Received a halt of work order number (31913) which targeted a plot with a total area of 1.5 dunums surrounded with bricks , the owner surrounded it with a siege (about 100 long) , where he built an agricultural structure (50 m2) to rest at with his family of 7 , among them 5 children.

The Occupation Authorities issue halt of work notices for citizens houses and facilities on the pretext of building without a license. However , when Palestinians apply for a construction license , the occupation authorities refuse in 97-98 % of the cases.

About Ad-Dhaheriya:[1]

25 km away from Hebron, Ad-Dhaheriya has a population of 63,390 dunums, of which 4,437 dunums are a built up area, and according to 2007 , Ad-Dhaheriya has a population of 28,776 dunums.

The Occupation confiscated 1412 dunums from Ad-Dhaheriya for:

  • Israeli colonies devoured 427 dunums for: (Tina / Ma’ale ‘Umarim) established in 1982 and devoured 55.5 dunums of Ad-Dhaheriya lands , and inhabited by 563 colonists, in addition to Shima colony which devour 372 dunums , established in 1985 and inhabited by 357 colonists.
  • Bypass roads 60 and 317 devoured 859 dunums.
  • The Annexation and Expansion Wall ate up 126 dunums and isolated 213 dunums.
