The Occupation Demolishes Two Agricultural Rooms in At-Tayba town East Tarqumiya / Hebron Governorate

Description:

Wednesday, January 27th 2021 , the Occupation Authorities Demolished Two agricultural rooms on the pretext of building without a license in At-Tayba east Tarqumiya west Hebron.

 A massive army force, a vehicle from the building and organization department in the civil administration, a Volvo bulldozer, and a JCB excavator raided the area, and went to a plot belong to Nasser Al-Murqaten and leveled his agricultural room to the ground.

The Occupation authorities demolished a room built since 2019 of bricks, and steel boards, with a total area of 45m2, and used as a residence and a store for agricultural tools. Noteworthy, Nasser Owns a 10 dunums plot planted with fruitful trees which is where he built the targeted room , that he sleeps at during working seasons.

After demolishing Nasser’s room, The Occupation went to another structure at a farmland belong to Citizen Mohammed Al-Murqatan , the forces emptied the room and demolished it , the targeted structure was built of bricks and steel sheets ceiling , and has a total area  of 30 m2 , built since 2018.

The Illegal Colony of Adora is to the west of the targeted plots, that is also 250 m away from bypass 35.

Noteworthy, the Occupation Authorities is heavily targeting At-Tayba area, many agricultural structures and facilities received notices.

In March 1st 2020, the Occupation authorities issued halt of work notices for the targeted rooms, on the pretext of building without a license, the owners prepared files containing the necessary papers, and hired a Lawyer to follow up the case, but the occupation authorities refused the licensing application , and issued a demolition notice to force citizens to leave their lands.

 A glimpse on Tarqumiya town:[1]

The town of Tarqumiya is located 10 km to the west of Hebron, and it is bordered to the north by the towns of Beit Ula and Beit Kahel, to the west by Idna town, to the east by Hebron city and Tafuh town, and to the south by the towns of Tafuh and Dora.

Its population is 19,311 people as of 2017. The total area of ​​the village is 22,106 dunums, of which 2,117 dunums are a built-up area.

The total of 948 dunums of the town’s land was seized for the construction of the two following settlements:

  • At least 442 dunums for Adora settlement established in 1982 and now inhabited by 191 settlers.
  • At least 506 dunums for Telem settlement established  in 1981 and now inhabited by 127 settlers.

Tarqumiya land classification by Olso agreement:

  • Areas classified as B constitutes 37% equal to 8,186 dunums.
  • Areas classified as C constitutes 63% equal to 13,920 dunums.
