Colonists Demolished an Agricultural Room in Jit Village \ Qalqilya governorate

Description:

Wednesday, December 16th 2020 , Havat Gilad colonists went to Jorat Al-Bayda area in Jit village , and carried on destroying an agricultural facility (12 m2) in a plot belong to Shadi Tbaila from Nablus.

The Owner Shadi Tbaila told LRC:

“I own a plot with a total area of 2.6 dunums , that I planted with Olives and Almond, I also built a small room to use as a store for agricultural tools , and as a resting place for my family. Illegal colonists accompanied by a bulldozer invaded the plot and carried out the demolition . Noteworthy, the room was already notified with a “Halt of Work Notice” numbered 31278  . I tried through a legal aid institution to get a license , but the Occupation rejected our applications. And fanatic colonists carried out the demolition.”

Jorat Al-Baida area is a hotspot for Israeli violations , it is reported that colonists uprooted number of trees , while Israeli Forces planted a military watch point at the same location to protect colonists while they carry out attacks against Jit farmers.

Jit village:

Jit is located 25 km east Qalqilya , and bordered by Qousin and Kafr Qadoum (north), Kafr Qadoum (west) , Surra (east) and Fara’ata and Imatin (south).

Jit has a population of (2405) people until 2017 censes.

Jit is blocked  by “Kedumim Tzifun” and “Jeva’at Hamarkaziz” illegal settlements (north) , “Kedumim” and “Jit” illegal settlements(west) , the settlements were built on confiscated Palestinian lands.

Bypass roads 55 and 60 devoured 378 dunums of the town’s lands.

The segregation wall plan, in case it was implemented , will devour (787) dunums under its route, isolate (292) dunums and be (2871) m long.

Oslo accords divided the village lands as the following:

  • B area : 2,155 dunums.
  • C area: 4,198 dunums.
