Violation  details:

On July 21, 2020, the Israeli occupation authorities threatened to demolish the homes and facilities of citizens in the villages of Umm al-Khair and al-Daqaiqa, east of Yatta in the Hebron governorate, under the pretext of building them without permission.

First: the village of Umm al-Khair

A force of the occupation army, accompanied by a vehicle belonging to the so-called Department of Planning and Building in the “Civil Administration”, raided the southern part of the village, and headed to the residence of citizen Suleiman Eid Yamin al-Hathalin. Up on arrival, the so-called building inspector affixed pasted a paper notice on the residence of the citizen entitled (Giving an additional time to object to the demolition Order No. 391164). According to the notice the citizen was given  a period of 3 days to file an objection to the order.

The occupation threatened that if the “granted” period expires without submitting an objection, they will implement the demolition decision. However, Mr. Hathalin does not count on objecting such cases, relying on his previous experiences with the occupation, noting that the targeted site is located near the luxury homes of the settlers in the settlement of “Karmel”, which is built on lands confiscated from the Palestinian village.

Mr. Hathalin’s targeted house is  40M2, made of  steel sheets and  dwelt by the elderly man and his wife which he had built on the place of his first house demolished by the occupation in 2014.

Second: the village of Adaqaiga

Having done with Mr. Hathalin’s residence in  Umm al-Khair, the attacking Israeli force headed east to the village of Al-Daqaiqa, and reached the “Shaab Al-Harathat” area, where the citizen Jamil Mahmoud Ibrahim Al-Najada and his son Mahmoud live.

The occupation authorities pasted a notice to remove two caravans (Mobile homes_) and a toilet built of steel sheets.  The notice whose number is 31101,  orders the removal of the aforementioned installations  under the pretext of un-licensing and sets the date of 11/8/2020 as the time to hold a hearing session  by the so-called sub-committee for inspection at Beit El colony in Ramallah.

It is worth mentioning that on 10/10/2019,  the occupation authorities had demolished all the facilities of the citizen Al- Najada in that particular place, which prompted an international humanitarian aid organization to provide  him and his son with mobile dwellings. The area of “Shaab al-Harathat” is located to the west of the village of Al-Daqaiqa. The two families of Mr. Jamil and his son live there for the purpose of cultivating their land grazing their cattle. However, they are constantly exposed to harassment and threats by the occupation authorities and the settlers with the aim of expelling them from the area in favor of Israeli settlement projects.
