Demolishing an under construction house in At-Tayiba village / northwest Jenin

Description:

Thursday , October 3, A massive army force accompanied by a bulldozer raided At-Tayiba village north west Jenin, heading to a house close to the apartheid wall.

The Israeli occupation forces carried on demolishing a one-floor building with an area of 140 m2 that belongs to citizen Mohammad Jabareen (39 years old) from the village , the occupation authorities claim that the house was built without licenses , while it is  located 120 m from the apartheid wall west the village , the occupation authorities claim that a notice was served to the owner early February.

Mr.Khalid Jabareen , At-Tayiba village council head told LRC reporter:

“people of At-Tayiba village are still suffering due to the apartheid wall constructed in the village , since 2002 the occupation authorities have been imposing construction restrictions on plots near the apartheid wall.

 The construction of the targeted house in the demolition cost 85,000 NIS, and was supposed to be a home for a family of 5 , 3 of them are children.

Jabareen asserted: “I received a halt of work military order in early February , and hired a lawyer to follow up the case in the Israeli court, I knew recently that the occupation refused to license the house due to its location close to the apartheid wall.”

At-Tayiba village :

16 km northwest Jenin , At-Tayiba is surrounded by Rumana (north) , the greenline (west), Selat Al-Harthiya and Rumana (east) and ‘Anin (south).

At-Tayiba has a population of (2215) people , according to 2017 census.

At-Tayiba has a total area of 5,389 dunums, of which 655 dunums are a built up area.

Bypass road 596 devoured 188 dunums of the village lands.

The apartheid wall is 860 m long, devoured 86 dunums, isolated 48 dunums.

Oslo accords divided At-Tayiba lands as the following:

  • B area : 1,330 dunums.
  • C area: 4,059 dunums.
