Details:
It should be marked that the policy of setting up checkpoints and military gates at entrances of Palestinian villages and cities is Israel's preferred means of collective punishment against Palestinians. It is conducted to harass Palestinians and take their determination down.
It is reported that Israeli Occupation Forces set up around 87 checkpoints and movements restrictions all over the West Bank ( Field Research Info-Land Research Center).
On January 17, 2018, Israeli Occupation Forces set up two gates at the entrances of Saffarin and Shufa villages of Nablus governorate.
The new closure is believed to restrict the movement Palestinians in the area, given that the road is a connecting point between a number of villages and cities of the nearby. This will eventually affect the economic sector and the medical and humanitarian status of the area as well.Reportedly, the southern entrance of Shufa village and the northern entrance of Saffarin village were closed for over twelve years since the year 2000. The occupation closes and reopens it under "security claims".
