Details:

The Israeli Occupation Forces closed on September 08, 2017 the road linking Al-Karmil village to Yatta village, south Hebron after ravaging it by bulldozers.

Reportedly, forces from the Israeli Occupation Army accompanied by a dozer raided the area, ravaged part of the road and closed it via earth mounds

The targeted road is located in Ma'in village and links the villages of Al-Karmil, Khallet Saleh and Al-Hadidyyeh to the area of Masfer Yatta.

Noteworthy, the road was rehabilitated by AL-Karmil Municipality with funds from Action Against Hunger ACF aim organization.

The targeted road is 400*6m and has been used by residents in their daily movement.

Due to its important, residents of the area re-opened the road but only four wheel drive cars can only travel through it because of the great hole the dozer left.

Also, the Israeli Authorities ordered stop-work on a road being rehabilitated in AL-Karmil village. The road links Al-Karmel to Al-Tuwani area, east Yatta village. After paving almost all of the road, the occupation authorities ordered the stop-work , claiming that one part of the road is located within area classified "C" according to Oslo Accords.

Noteworthy, Land Research Center documented in 2017 that the Israeli Occupation closed 27 roads with earth mounds, road blocks and metal gate, ravaged three roads and threatened to ravage seven others.

In the same time, the occupation allowed colonists to open around 11 colonists roads and planned to open 15 others at the expense of Palestinian lands.

Al Karmil:

It is located 4 km to the east of Yatta Town and is bounded by the by-pass road (60) from its eastern side. Al Karmil is inhabited by around 4000 people. The village affairs are handled by a village council. There are phone and electricity networks in the village

Land Research Center sees that the policy of roads closures as a collective punishment to limit down Palestinians' movement.
