Notifying a residence with stop work in the village of al-Jiftlik

 

Violation: serving two stop work orders on a Palestinian family

Victims: a two member family

Details:

The so-called Civil Administration of the Israeli occupation served citizen Mohammad Abu Iram from the village of al-Jiftlik two stop work orders on a house and a kitchen under the pretext of unlicensed construction within area classified C according to Oslo Accords.

 According to the  military orders, the citizen was given until October 9th 2014 as a final date to complete all licensing procedures. This comes in time with the session of the Planning Committee in the court of Beit El to consider the status of the structures.

Noteworthy, citizen Abu Iram has a house, in which his first house resided, demolished where his second house, in which his second wife resided, has been notified  with stop work. The following table shows information about the damage resulted by the orders:

About al- Jiftlik:

It is located 35km from the northern part of Jericho city and is edged by the village of Beit Daggan from the northwest and Massuah colony from the west. The village has a population of 4789 people until 2014 and has a total land area of 185031 dunums of which 1110 dunums are built-up area. Noteworthy, the occupation expropriated around 12040 dunums as follows :

  • 3207 dunums were confiscated for the favor of establishing colonies in the nearby.
  • 3328 dunums were confiscated for the bypass roads no. (90, 505, and 508).
  • 5505 dunums were confiscated for the favor of military camps.
