Violation: stop-work orders for two under construction residences.

Details:
On January 29, 2013, a large Israeli force broke into Steih area in Ad Dyuk boulevard to the east of Jericho and handed two families stop-work orders for their under construction residences. The orders were issued on the pretext of unlicensed construction in area classified ‘C’ according to Oslo Accords.

Ad Duyuk at Tahta:
One of the newly amended neighborhoods of Jericho city; it is located on the eastern side of the city and inhabited by around 940 people according to Jericho Municipality. It is known for the availability of water while holding Steih spring which pumps around 13 m3/ hour. The area holds a number of varied historical and religious sites.
Nevertheless, over 80 structures in the area are threatened of demolition in the area classified ‘C’ according to Oslo while 9 structures were demolished in 2012 only.
