Details:

On August 26, 2012, the Israeli Occupation Civil Administration handed Ismael Udra a stop-work order for his residence located in Ad Deirat, eastern Yatta. Jibreel, Ismael’s brother, said that an officer of the Israeli Occupation Civil Administration came into their house and handed his brother the order numbered (149964) on the pretext of unlicensed construction. The order also set September 29, 2012, as the date of a the hearing session to be held in Beit El Military Court to decide on the fate of the house.

The targeted residence is a two-storey building with a total area of 280 m2. The first storey is used to store grains while the second is used as a residence inhabited by the 16-member-family. Jibreel also pointed that his brother built the first storey in 1988 while the second was built in 2003. He said that his brother prepared a file and handed it to the ‘Society of Saint Yves’ to defend his case in Israeli courts.

It must be pointed that ad Deirat have been targeted a lot recently by plowing lands, uprooting trees, and numerous demolition threats for various structures.
