The families were forced to dismantle their tents and move to Al Maleh area, 2 km away, to avoid demolition. The Israelis claim that the area is a closed military zone and that no one is allowed to stay in. Most of the Palestinian communities in the Jordan Valley area are not recognized by Israel and many faced mass expulsion operations carried out by the Israeli Army. Mayta suffered a similar blow when 67 people, the population of the community, were deported before their houses were demolished.

The Israelis did not stick to the respite they gave; two hours after handing the orders, an Israeli force accompanied by a dozer demolished all the structures that were not dismantled. It added to the misery of the people who have been exhausted by injustice, cruelty, and poverty and were deprived from their most basic rights.
