Violation: the Israeli Occupation Army demolishes a number of shacks and tents.
Perpetrators: the Israeli Occupation Army.
Date: April 2, 2012.
Victims: 2 Palestinian families (15 people, 7 children).
Details:
For the third time since the beginning of 2012, families of Mohammad Nasasra (67) and his son’s Yahya family are facing the danger of deportation because of Israeli claims that they reside within a closed military zone. On April 2, 2012, another demolition campaign was held in Tana.
Table 1: victims of the demolition campaign:
Victim | Family members | Children | Damage | Remarks | |
Tent | Shack | ||||
Mohammad Nasasra | 11 | 5 | 1 | — | Previously demolished |
Mohi ad Din Nasasra | 4 | 2 | 2 | 1 | Previously demolished |
total | 15 | 7 | 3 | 1 |
It must be noted that Mohammad Nasasra’s family has been rendered homeless for the third time despite acquiring an Israeli Court Order that ensures freezing any demolitions in Tana which holds 25 families. However, the Israeli Occupation Army never hesitates to inflict more damage and add to the suffering of Tana’s people in order to drive them out.
Tana is part of Beit Furik lands; an 8-km road connects the village with Beit Furik. The lands of Tana are owned by Palestinians who have documents approved by the Ottomans and the Jordanians. Nevertheless, the Israelis confiscated one third of the village lands to serve the construction and expansion of Mikhora colony.
Around 200 Palestinian live in the 12-km2-village which has primitive residences and structures.
