The Israelis demolish a residence in As Suwwana
On February 13, 2012, Israeli troops accompanied by a dozer broke into As Suwwana and commenced the demolition of Ahmad al Baghdadi (34) 85-m2-residence. Ahmad is divorced and lived in the house along his 3-year-old son.

Ahmad said: ‘the house was built 17 years ago, in 1995, but I resided in it in 2008. it used to be used as a barn but I cleaned it and renovated it and used it as a shelter. The Israeli Occupation Municipality took pictures of the residence several times before issuing a demolition order for building without permit. It got even worse when the Israeli Court penalized me an amount of 200,000 ILS, to be paid in 500 ILS monthly payments and warned me that any delay will mean imprisonment for 5 days. I applied for a construction permit through the engineer Yousuf Iweisat but my application was rejected on claims that construction on that particular plot is not allowed. Two further demolition orders were issued despite the Court penalty.Today, at 9:00 am, a large Israeli force broke into the plot and ordered us to evacuate it.They had ‘Ethiopian’ workers with them; those were in charge of clearing the contents of the house before a massive dozer raised it leaving my only child and I shelter-less.I estimate my loss to be somewhere around 450,000 ILS‘.
