Date: The 27th of July, 2010.
Affected:  6 Palestinian families from Al Tmeizi clan.
Location: The area of Khallet Harb that is located west of the town of Idhna. The overall area of the town is 21,527 dunums of which 2,653 dunums are its built-up area. Its population (according to the 2007 census) is 19,012. The Israeli occupation confiscated 3,468 dunums of its lands to establish the Racist Israeli Isolation Wall.

Details:

Israeli occupation forces delivered Stop Work orders against 9 houses and structures in the said location while delivering another order calling for the demolition of a house in the town. Owners of the threatened structures indicated that the occupation forces distributed the Orders which were issued under the pretext that the targeted structures were built in Area C without a permit from the Israeli authorities. The orders determined a court date in Bet El on the 5th of August 2010 as to issue its decision regarding the structures. The Idhna Municipality has made it a conscious policy to provide services (including paved roads, water network, phones and electricity) to the tens of houses located in Khallet Harb as to support the steadfastness of the people in that area.

As for Mr. Deeb Abu Jheisha, he was delivered a demolition order of his 170-m2 under construction house. He had planned to move his 15-member family into it upon completion. Mr. Abu Jheisha indicated that this is the second order that he has received from the occupation authorities and that the order gave him only one week to appeal it.

It’s been noted that Israeli occupation forces have increased the frequency of issuing stop work and demolition orders against Palestinian structures in the Governorate of Hebron since the beginning of the year 2010. The Land Research Center (LRC) has documented at least 161 such orders in the Governorate since January 2010. At the same time, 6 houses as well as 18 agricultural structures were demolished in the Governorate. Israeli occupation forces carry out these demolitions under the pretext that were built with an Israeli-issued permit, despite the fact these authorities rarely, if ever, issue such permits.
