The targeted trees were recently planted through a land rehabilitation project funded by the Civil Society. It is the second land eviction campaign this year. On April 25, 2012, the Israeli Occupation EPA handed 10 eviction orders for farmers in the area which resulted in damaging 1400 olive seedlings.

Laying control over lands in Deir Istiya:

The Israeli Occupation Army handed Deir Istiya Municipality an order that grants the Army control over a 4.5-dunum plot which will be used to place a military watch tower.

It must be noted that Wadi Qana is one of the most targeted areas in the West Bank as farmers face daily aggressions, movement restrictions, and other hardships. In addition, 7 Israeli colonies spread over Wadi Qana and turning the lives of Palestinians into unbearable ones.
