Violation: the occupation destroys a number of residential and agricultural facilities

On 02//12/2013, a massive force of the Israeli occupation(10 military jeeps) accompanied by the Civil Administration and two other bulldozers raided the Bedouin community of Arabs al-Jahalin and al-Ka'abna in the area of al-Najada, north of al-'Auja village.
Around four am, the residents of the Bedouin community were surprised by the machineries of the occupation marching towards the location and surrounding it firmly. Soldiers of the occupation forced kids and women to stay out in the cold and prohibited them from taking out any belongings from their houses.
Afterwards, the bulldozers embarked a vast demolition that reached out three residences( made of bricks and metal slabs) in addition to 9 barracks used to breed sheep. The following table show information about the targeted structures:

The chairman of Jericho Ministry of Endowment to the LRC researcher stated the following: "the targeted houses and barracks in the last operation on the community were originally built on lands owned
elative to Palestine Ministry of Endowment. Noteworthy, Owners of the houses have leasing contracts from the same Ministry which makes the demolition operation a vicious attack that contradict the international law on the properties of Palestine Ministry of Endowment"
The chairman of Arabs Najada community Erheil Ka'abna to the LRC said:
"three months ago, the occupation served 25 stop work orders on different structures owned by Bedouin families of the community. In a first of a type operation, 11 residential and agricultural structures were destroyed where the rest are facing the threat of demolition in any moment. As a result, many families will remain homeless and with no source of living and income.
He also added: " we submitted many licensing applications for our structures in the community to the Planning Committee of the Civil Administration, which in that regard stalled considering them. As a result, the Committee demolished around 12 residential and agricultural structures in the community.
About Arabs al-Najada :
It should be marked that the community of Arabs al-Najada includes the communities of Arabs al_Jahalin and Arabs al-Ka'abna who as matter of fact reside in the northern part of al-"Auja village in Jericho governorate.
The total population of the community is 480 people who have roots in the area of occupied Bier al-Saba' in 1948. Those people were expelled and displaced forcefully to different parts of the West Bank.
The kind of life residents of this community live is so simple. Having almost no life standards and services in the area, the residents have been living there since 18 years. Despite all the previous obstacles, the residents insist on staying and challenge all difficulties and hindrances put by the occupation.
