Few weeks ago, a group of colonists captured a plot and placed a caravan in it; the plot is only 2 km away from the Yatma village residences. On May 10, 2013, the Israeli Occupation Army evacuated the plot but the disgruntled colonists responded by cutting 70 olive seedlings in the area. The targeted seedlings were property of Abdul Jabbar Najjar (54 seedlings) and Farah Najjar (16 seedlings).

Abdul Jabbar Najjar, 51, said: "Jabal Sbeih is one of the most targeted area around; it held an Israeli military encampment till the early 1990s. It has been targeted by many attacks carried out by colonists or the Israeli Occupation Army; even farmers working in their lands were not spared. We filed an official complaint at Ariel Police department but all we got back was promises to follow up the case despite cut clear evidences on the identity of the assailants. We know for the sure that the Israeli Occupation Authorities conspires with the colonists".
The village is located 11 km to the south of Nablus city. It is surrounded by As Sawiya, Yasuf, Beita, and Qabalan villages. Its total area is 4411 dunums including 392 dunums of built up area which is inhabited by 2853 Palestinians. The village lost around 25.7 dunums to Rekhelim colony.
