Info-graph: The Israeli restrictions on movement in the occupied West Bank

In the occupied West Bank, in 2018, ARIJ revealed more than 800 blockades, checkpoints, road blocks, earth mounds and other various types of obstacles, affecting the freedom of movement of Palestinians within the West Bank. These obstacles contribute to the large increase of travel time needed for Palestinians to reach their closest destination in the West Bank. Checkpoints can be permanent and partial, but also temporary (the flying checkpoints); this last type of checkpoint, because of their unpredictability, may be a bigger problem than the usual ones, as they can block a road anywhere, anytime. The other kinds of blockades (earth mounds, road blocks, etc) are fixed and intend to block a road, in order to oblige people to take a road controlled by a checkpoint. These various blockades severely hamper the freedom of movement of the Palestinian people.
